Accounting Clerk-Administrative Assistant

Monday to Friday 8am to 5 pm

Occasional Saturday 8am to 3 pm June to September

Summary:

 

Temagami Marine is looking for a friendly, energetic, organized individual to join our team.  The duties for this position cover a wide variety of telephone, computer, customer service, accounting and clerical functions from backroom calculations to front desk customer service.  Responsibilities will include posting the day’s receipts, filing and tallying deposits, coding, totalling, batching, entering, verifying and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable, receivable, purchase orders, and invoices.  Other responsibilities will include unit inventory creation, arranging shipping, receiving the products into inventory.  The performance of related clerical duties, such as word processing, spreadsheets, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying are also part of the job.  A valid driver’s licence is required.

Job Duties:

 

  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable
  • Daily banking, licencing and various other errands
  • Utilizes computer systems to run databases, pay bills and order supplies.
  • Provide customer service, accepting payments or providing refunds.
  • Contacts individuals with delinquent accounts.
  • Calculates, and enters documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, purchase orders and receiving reports.
  • Assists in coordinating the logistical aspects of sales and shows and their required needs.
  • Assists in creating, receiving and updating unit inventory.
  • Performs related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
  • Provides the necessary backup for the Reception and Cashier positions.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • A good working knowledge of all accepted accounting functions, rules and practices.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in an accounting position.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superior typing and computer software skills.
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
